Bear Tree
Each year we try to “Bear Christ’s love to others” by picking an ornament off our Bear Tree at Christmas time, purchasing gifts which are then delivered to the agency/people we’re helping. In 2011, our gifts are helping the clients of the Lexington Parent Child Center.
Chili Challenge
Annual cook-off combined with the Pie Auction to raise funds for our youth summer mission trips. This year (2012) we’ll head to New Orleans for the ELCA Youth Gathering.
Coffee Fellowship after Worship
We gather for coffee and goodies and informal talking and laughing in our lobby/narthex area while sipping tea or Free Trade Coffee from real coffee mugs! You can buy bags of coffee to take home, too.
Crop Walk / ELCA World Hunger
The annual Community Crop Walk raises funds for hunger relief in our local community and around the world. Grace members have been regular participants. ELCA World Hunger is how the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America addresses chronic hunger and poverty around the corner and world. We participate annually in Souper Bowl Sunday and designate our dollars to ELCA World Hunger.
Lenten Suppers
The Wednesday Lenten suppers are delicious and our free-will donations to local causes such as The Welcome Center and the Emergency Fund of the Lexington Ministerial Association. Lenten offerings go to support the Lexington Maternal Health Clinic.
Relay for Life
Grace has had a Relay for Life Team for years! Dawson County annually raises over $100,000 for cancer research at the Relay every year!
Meals On Wheels
Grace is part of the team that delivers well-balanced hot meals to people in the community who need them.
